L-Methiocid – a preparation for dogs and cats, intended to support the treatment of phosphate-ammonium-magnesium (struvite) urolithiasis. L-methionine has strong properties in lowering urine pH. The preparation should not be used together with other substances or food that lower the urine reaction!
Dosage
L-methionine – 250 mg/capsule
Cats – 1 capsule every 12 hours
Dogs up to 10 kg body weight – 1 capsule every 12 hours
Dogs 10-25 kg body weight – 2 capsules every 12 hours
Dogs over 25 kg body weight – 3 capsules every 12 hours
If it is difficult to administer the capsule orally, it is recommended to open the capsule and mix its contents with your favorite delicacy. If the animal’s diet is based solely on dry food, the food should be slightly moistened so that the contents of the capsule stick to the food and are consumed by the animal.
