TADALAFIL MAXON is a drug intended for adult men with erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to obtain or maintain a penile erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. Tadalafil has been shown to significantly improve the ability to get an erection suitable for sexual intercourse. TADALAFIL MAXON contains the active substance tadalafil, which belongs to a group of medicines called ‘phosphodiesterase type 5’ (PDE5) inhibitors. After sexual stimulation, TADALAFIL MAXON helps dilate the blood vessels of the penis, allowing blood to flow in and leading to an erection. TADALAFIL MAXON does not help patients who do not have erectile dysfunction. Sexual stimulation is required for TADALAFIL MAXON to be effective.

Composition:

Tadalafil (Tadalafilum) 10 mg – active substance.

Excipients – tablet core: croscarmellose sodium, povidone K30, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium lauryl sulfate, polyximer type 188, microcrystalline cellulose; tablet coating: polyvinyl alcohol, talc, macrogol 3380, titanium dioxide (E 171), yellow iron oxide (E 172), red iron oxide (E 172).

Dosage:

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Tadalafil Maxon tablets are for oral use by men only.

The tablets should be swallowed whole with a little water. The tablets can be taken regardless of meals.

The recommended dose is one 10 mg tablet taken before anticipated sexual activity.

The drug should be taken at least 30 minutes before planned sexual activity. The medicine may be effective up to 36 hours after taking the tablet.

Medication for emergency use, as needed.

Do not take more than 1 tablet. Do not use the drug more than once a week.

Action:

Supporting the relaxation of blood vessels in the penis, increasing the flow of blood to the penis during sexual arousal.

Contraindications:

When not to use Tadalafil Maxon

if you are allergic to tadalafil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
if you are taking medicines containing nitrates, as the combination may lead to a dangerous fall in your blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you are taking any of these drugs.
If you are taking medicines or other nitric oxide donors (such as amyl nitrite, so-called ‘poppers’), as the combination may also cause a dangerous fall in your blood pressure
if you have severe heart disease or if you have had a heart attack in the last 90 days
if you have had a stroke in the last 6 months
if you have low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure
if you have ever had loss of vision as a result of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), known as “eye palsy”
if you are taking riociguat (e.g. Adempas). It is a medicine used to treat pulmonary hypertension (i.e. high blood pressure in the lungs) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (i.e. high pressure in the lungs caused by blood clots). Phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, such as Tadalafil Maxon, have been shown to increase the blood pressure lowering effect of this drug. Side effects:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. These effects are usually mild to moderate. If you experience any of the following side effects, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately:

– allergic reactions including rashes (may affect up to 1 in 100 people – uncommon).

– chest pain – do not use nitrates, but seek medical attention immediately (uncommon).

– priapism, a prolonged and possibly painful erection after taking tadalafil (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people – rare). If you have such an erection and it lasts continuously for more than 4 hours, you should contact your doctor immediately.

– sudden loss of vision (rare).

Warnings:

Talk to your doctor before taking Tadalafil Maxon.

It is important to remember that sexual activity carries some risk in patients with heart disease because it puts extra strain on the heart. If you have heart problems (including the inability to use Tadalafil Maxon due to heart problems, as indicated in the questionnaire), you should inform your doctor. Tell your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any of the following conditions: sickle cell anemia (abnormal shape of red blood cells), multiple myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow), leukemia (cancer of blood cells), any deformity of the penis, severe liver disease, severe kidneys.
