Polysaccharides are rich in sugars, for example glucuronic acid (16%), uronic acids (12%), sulfates (0.5%) and phosphates (2%). Their action increases the expression of involucrin and filaggrin, which are markers of cell differentiation, which has the effect of accelerating the recovery of the skin’s good condition as a result of breaking the skin barrier. They also stimulate transglutaminase found in the furthest layers of the epidermis, supporting the protective functions of the skin.
