MANDELAC PEELS is a line of peelings containing mandelic acid. Recommended for skin intolerant to other AHA acids. Mandelic acid (amygdalic or 2-phenylglycolic acid) is obtained by hydrolysis of bitter almond extract. It is mainly recommended in programs against photoaging, hyper-pigmentation, inflamed acne and for preparing the skin for laser resurfacing procedures. Suitable for sensitive skin because it has a large molecule that penetrates the stratum corneum more slowly than glycolic acid, without causing itching and irritation.

PROPERTIES OF MANDELIC ACID
– high ability for dermal remodeling
Mandelic acid has a pKa of 3.41, so its ability to increase the synthesis of collagen, elastin and GAGs in the papillary dermis is greater than other ANAs (for example, glycolic acid, which has a pKa of 3.83).
– depigmenting effect
Melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation, lentigo are significantly reduced (> 50% of cases) when exposed to mandelic acid. There is no post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to mandelic acid (unlike other ANAs).
– sebum-regulating, antimicrobial and antibacterial effect
Mandelic acid has a similar structure to broad-spectrum antibiotics. Controls and normalizes the amount of sebum, penetrating the hair follicle and reducing the number of P.acne bacteria, improving the condition of skin with papules, pustules, comedones, folliculitis and rosacea. Preparing the skin with mandelic acid for 2-4 weeks before and after laser resurfacing prevents the formation of gram-negative infections.

Differences between gel and solution
The gel texture has a longer lasting
effect, since peelings in gel form dry much more slowly, so the exposure time is
skin and acid penetration increases significantly.
